Job Summary:
General:
The Director of Facilities and Operations is an administrative and managerial position which supports the educational mission of the district by ensuring efficient and effective operation of the Facilities and Transportation departments.
This is a management position that receives administrative direction from the Business Manager and the Superintendent. This position exercises general direction and supervision over professional, technical, and administrative support staff.
Facilities:
The Director of Facilities and Operations supports all functions for the daily operations of all district buildings and grounds including 5 schools over 4 campuses and one off-site storage facility. The Director of Facilities and Operations performs work related to the planning, design, construction and maintenance of District facilities and District capital improvement projects, confers with developers, contractors, and representatives of other agencies regarding facility and infrastructure development. The Director of Facilities and Operations is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and supervising the facilities team, operations and building services.
Transportation:
The Director of Facilities and Operations supports the effective and efficient operation of the transportation department. The West Perry School District footprint covers 325 square miles and serves over 2000 students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma and a minimum of 3 years facilities and/or project management experience related to planning, evaluation, design, construction, and assessment of school projects preferred.
- Specialized technical knowledge, expertise and hands-on experience in facilities management preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong computer, analytical, organizational and communication skills required.
- Experience in the transportation field preferred.
