What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer: Content Creator/Social Media position at West Place Animal Sanctuary?
Founded in 2007, West Place Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving care, love, and a permanent home to farm animals rescued from cases of abuse, neglect, and cruelty. It is a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center that assists sick, injured, and orphaned animals, and releases healthy wildlife back into their natural habitats. It also serves as the lost dog shelter for the towns of Tiverton and Little Compton. West Place has a network of 75 volunteers, who provide essential animal care 365 days a year, and the organization provides unique hands-on humane education experiences to students to cultivate a more compassionate community.,
Seeking volunteers interested in expanding our social media and content creation. Experience with video, video editing, and YouTube channel management a plus. Also FB, IG, X, TikTok and LinkedIn a plus as well.
Volunteer will work with the Director of Operations, Executive Director, and Philanthropic Consultant to promote events, share news, and more for our farm animal sanctuary. A minimum of four hours each week are requested, though you are welcome to join us for more. Applicants should have their own laptop and relevant software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. or web-based platforms like Canva a plus). No West Place information will be housed on your computer.
Attention to detail, good communication skills, and timely completion of projects are essential to success in the role. This position will require on-site work at our sanctuary in Tiverton, but some volunteer duties can also be completed remotely.
