Founded in 2007, West Place Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving care, love, and a permanent home to farm animals rescued from cases of abuse, neglect, and cruelty. It is a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center that assists sick, injured, and orphaned animals, and releases healthy wildlife back into their natural habitats. It also serves as the lost dog shelter for the towns of Tiverton and Little Compton. West Place has a network of 75 volunteers, who provide essential animal care 365 days a year, and the organization provides unique hands-on humane education experiences to students to cultivate a more compassionate community.,
West Place is seeking an experienced Information Technology Volunteer to assist with our growing suite of online platforms, applications, software, and hardware. Duties include, but are not limited to, website maintenance and design; Google For Nonprofits administration including Google Ad Grants and YouTube; CRM maintenance and integrations; payment processing, ecommerce and online donation management; paid advertising on social media platforms; hardware installation and setup; and researching and implementing new resources.
Volunteer will work with staff to improve technological efficiencies and improve the user experience. This is a hybrid position with some on-site work required, but many tasks can be performed remotely during non-traditional business hours. An average of four hours each week is requested, though the four-hour window each week can be flexible if needed. Applicant should have their own laptop and relevant software, and will be granted access to West Place’s web-based platforms as necessary. No West Place information will be housed on your computer.
Responsiveness, good communication, and timely completion of projects are essential to success in the role. Volunteer should have experience working with Wix or similar website hosting and email platforms, Google for Nonprofits or the G Suite, integration tools such as Zapier, and be proficient with a variety of technology and web-based programs.
