The mission of West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is to ?Serve West Point and the Long Gray Line.? WPAOG is both the alumni association and foundation for the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. Our vision is to ensure the Long Gray Line remains the most highly connected alumni body in the world. USMA is renowned as the world's preeminent leadership development institution. The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400, and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is seeking a Contract Prospect Researcher for 20 hours a week until December 31, 2025, to assist with prospect research and wealth screening activities as part of fundraising efforts for the United States Military Academy (USMA). This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Donor Strategy and Analytics.
As a Contract Prospect Researcher, this individual will work at WPAOG or remotely but within driving distance to West Point to assist with wealth rating validation and research on potential major and leadership gift prospects. Duties will include researching prospects in lists provided by the Donor Strategy and Analytics team to confirm whether wealth screening ratings are correct or need to be adjusted, updating capacity estimates and corresponding notes in Blackbaud CRM, and writing prospect biographies/profiles as requested. The Contract Prospect Researcher will use the internet as well as additional tools such as Evertrue, iWave, etc. to find financial and biographical information on individuals and estimate giving capacity per formulas and training provided by the team at WPAOG.
A bachelor?s degree is required. Applicants must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as databases, able to do basic internet research, and have great attention to detail and strong written communication skills. Knowledge of fundraising and/or the military community is strongly preferred. The salary range for this role is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.
