The mission of West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is to “Serve West Point and the Long Gray Line.” WPAOG is both the alumni association and foundation for the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. Our vision is to ensure the Long Gray Line remains the most highly connected alumni body in the world. USMA is renowned as the world's preeminent leadership development institution. The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400, and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is seeking a Senior Director of Development Operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Development as a member of the Development Team's Senior Staff, the incumbent serves as deputy for the VP of Development executing, as required, daily Development Headquarters matters related to policies and procedures, management, human resources, and budget. As requested, the Sr. Director stands in for VP and at VP, Development, Board, and Campaign Cabinet meetings. Collaborates with VP on overall strategy for Development. Primary duties for the incumbent include overseeing and managing the revenue support area, including communications, stewardship, events, CRM strategy, data services, and gift operations. The Senior Director crafts the department's goals and long-term plans to ensure that the activities support the overall strategy of the Development Office. The incumbent oversees a staff of 19. The incumbent also serves as the point of contact for several Academy departments.
The successful applicant must be: Proficient with CRM database or other relational database is a must. Have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and PowerPoint. Have strong writing and critical thinking and oral communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
The ability to work independent of supervision and collegially as part of a team. Have advanced skills in design programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Premiere Pro. Thorough knowledge of the West Point Association of Graduates and the United States Military Academy.
BS/ BA degree required with at least ten years of professional experience preferred. Development experience is a plus. We offer excellent benefits and a pleasant work environment.
