What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinic Receptionist- New England position at West River Health Services?
Description: Supplemental/ One day per week (Varies)
- Answers phone in a prompt, courteous, professional manner. Presents oneself in a professional manner, knowing the receptionist is the first impression of the organization. Focuses on quality customer service.
- Recognizes criteria for ambulatory visits and accepts appropriate patients and schedules accordingly. Demonstrates flexibility to priorities as patient’s needs change.
- Able to assess needs per phone conversation with appropriate referral and/or appointment scheduled.
- Works with the patients to insure that the patient information sheet is complete and that necessary authorization signatures are obtained.
- Maintains demographic and insurance information for new patients and/or patients with updated information.
- Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed, although not directly assigned.
- Performs money management duties including co-pay collections, petty cash, and deposit process. Coordinates with Patient Financial Services.
- Checks patients out after appointment. Schedule follow-up appointments. Tallies the patient route ticket and collection of patient day amounts. Makes sure all diagnosis is legible on the route ticket.
- Opens, closes, and maintains the satellite clinic office in accordance with office policy. Makes appropriate preparations for the next day’s schedule.
- Routes mail, faxes and dictation to the appropriate provider and/or staff member. Responsible for mailing letters/packages and picking up mail.
