Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting the nursing student engaged in learning experiences through colleges. Maintains laboratory with adequate supplies and maintains communication with clinical agencies. Maintains student files. Provides input into program evaluation.

- Demonstrate an ability to teach using a variety of technology and at the student’s level in lab/clinical and utilize different teaching strategies.
- Inform students of expected course outcomes, method of instruction and time allocation.
- Maintain a positive, stimulating learning environment in presenting classroom/lab material.
- Maintain set office hours for student access including telephone and email availability and provide feedback to students on their progress in courses.
- Integrate conceptual framework into student presentations.
- Follow clinical agencies policy and procedures and assist students to do so, as well as the Dakota Nursing Program policies regarding student evaluation.
- Develop, evaluate and revise curriculum and provide input in program evaluation.
- Contact clinical agencies for clinical experiences and provide student schedules.
- Collaborate with the nursing coordinator to provide input regarding necessary supplies and equipment, maintain well equipped and furnished laboratory, maintain communication with health care agency, assist in planning lab/clinical schedule, assist in identifying appropriate preceptors for clinical experiences, provide input into evaluating clinical facilities and assist in maintaining student records.
- Collaborate with nursing coordinators, director, students, college instructors and staff of the nursing consortium to provide seamless nursing education at each campus and site.
- Proctor nursing exams and ATI Assessments, advocate for tutoring, computer support and other student guidance and serve as student nursing organization (SNO) advisor for nursing students.
- Communicate necessary information in a professional and timely manner to the nursing Director, Coordinators, instructors and students.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records, progress, etc., adhering to FERPA regulations, which serve to protect the above.
- Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Experience: Two years clinical experience in nursing (preferably acute care) and additional experience in clinical or nursing education preferred
- License Requirements: Current Unencumbered North Dakota RN license required
- Other Requirements: General knowledge of the teaching/learning process, vocational education, technology and nursing field. Includes travel. Student clinical experience maximum ratio is 1:8.
