Job Title: BTW Driving Instructor

Job Description

Job Summary: Conduct Behind the Wheel Driving lessons for students of all ages and levels of experience. This position requires scheduling flexibility. Duties include Behind the Wheel Driving instructions, completing required paperwork, good communication, and teaching ability.

Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older and an experienced driver with valid Florida driver license. Must have a clean driving record and criminal background check. Driving instruction or teaching experience preferred. Must be willing to take responsibility for training car, appointments, and scheduling. Training is required for this position and instructors must be certified/ licensed by the DHSHV. Good communication skills are necessary. The ability to work independently and within a team to achieve goals is necessary. Daily use of email is required. The number of lessons scheduled each day, each week cannot and will not be guaranteed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of behind the wheel driving instructor including required paperwork.
• Represent West Road Safety School as a skilled professional driving instructor.
• Provide driving instructions that will make students safe and responsible drivers with the skills necessary to pass the DHSMV road test for driving’s license.
• Help nervous and inexperienced drivers gain the confidence they need to become safe drivers.
• Check schedule frequently as required through established procedures.
• Have knowledge and understanding of current traffic laws.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Observe traffic laws at all times.
• Keep training cars net and clean, and report mechanical problems immediately.
• Fill car gas at the end of each shift.

Salary Range: $24 to $35 per lesson and service

• The ability to interface professionally with public and students
• Ability to act quickly and appropriately in emergencies.
• Flexible time may be required

Other Abilities:

• Must be able to sit in a car for long periods of time
• Lift 30 to 40lbs of equipment/cones at training site locations
• Ability to get in and out of vehicle several times a day
• React quickly to emergencies
• Properly use instructor brake

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• After school
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)

Work Location: On the road
