Head Bus Driver (12-month position)
Salary commensurate with experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The work involves the responsibility of leading the work activities of maintaining the school buses in a safe and efficient condition. The position will provide direction to drivers and maintenance personnel in the operation of transportation services. Assist in compliance of NYS required testing and oversee NYS, DOT and DMV files. Road safety supervision, including bus stop locations and parent concerns.
Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills in communicating with the public, including parents, faculty, administration and staff; good knowledge of the operation of buses; good knowledge of general automotive maintenance and repair methods and procedures; ability to keep simple records; dependability, initiative; and mature judgment. You may be required to drive bus routes.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
(A) Three (3) years of experience as an automotive mechanic in the repair of school buses; or,
(B) Three (3) years of experience in the operations of a school bus; or,
(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of “A” and “B”.
Special Requirements:
Possess a CDL B with P & S endorsement License issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles at the time of application. Must be a certified NYS Article 19-A examiner and NYS School Bus Driver Instructor, SBDI. The applicants for this position should be those who are interested and/or qualified.
