Job Title: Food Access Programs Specialist

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Food Access Programs Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for expanding food access for qualifying community members. This role will involve obtaining food, packing, and delivering boxes which are nutritionally specific to clients.
Essential Functions:
Procurement
· Procure food and supplies to fulfill food access program requirements.
· Accept all food deliveries while adhering to proper temperature control and stock rotation.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships and clear communication with vendors and suppliers.
Fulfillment
· Build food boxes for eligible customers using specific nutritional guidelines.
· Deliver and track food boxes using refrigerated delivery truck, ensuring adherence to food safety throughout journey.
Other:
· Maintain a clean and food safe pantry environment free from health code violations.
· Schedule volunteers and train/direct them on proper box packing.
· Attend trainings and meetings as directed by leadership team.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Candidate must have a clean NYS driving record and ability to qualify for company insurance (CDL not required).
2. Candidate must be eligible to work within Medicaid and Medicare programs (we will conduct exclusion checks monthly).
3. Candidate must be ServSafe certified or ability to become certified within 90 days of employment.
4. Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and work on their feet.
5. Candidate must possess knowledge of food procurement and inventory management.
6. Candidate must be comfortable using data systems for fulfillment and inventory tracking.
7. Multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Priority languages in addition to English are Spanish, Arabic, and Burmese, but other languages are helpful.
