Schedule:
Approximately 6 hours/day, Monday–Friday (exact shift to be determined)
Position Overview:
West Side Community Services is seeking energetic, compassionate, and reliable individuals to serve as Youth Specialists for our 2025 Summer Day Camp. This seasonal role is essential to creating a safe, inclusive, and enriching experience for children ages 5–12. Youth Specialists will lead structured activities, build strong relationships with campers, and ensure a welcoming environment that reflects our values of compassion, equity, respect, integrity, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively supervise and engage youth in all areas of the camp day, including activities, meals, and transitions.
- Lead and assist with recreational, educational, and enrichment-based programming.
- Support behavior management by modeling positive, respectful interactions.
- Accompany and monitor youth during field trips and off-site activities.
- Maintain awareness of youth needs and promptly report concerns to supervisors.
- Collaborate with coworkers to foster a supportive, team-centered atmosphere.
- Ensure all safety guidelines and procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and organization of program materials and spaces.
- Participate in mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with youth (ages 5–12) in a camp, school, or recreation setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
- Comfortable leading activities and engaging diverse groups of children.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (can be provided before start date if needed).
- Must pass required background checks and complete all onboarding trainings.

Pay: $17.50 per hour
