The following position is available in the West Springfield Public School system:
MATH TEACHER
WEST SPRINGFIELD HIGH SCHOOL
Responsibilities:
-Meet and instruct assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
-Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interest, and abilities of students.
-Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals.
-Establish and communicate clear objectives to the students for all lessons and units
-Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media to meet the needs of the students
-Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provide progress reports as required, and communicate with parents as necessary
-Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
-Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Qualifications:
-Massachusetts D.E.S.E. Certification in Mathematics 9-12
-Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
-Familiarity with Illustrative Mathematics curriculum is desired
Salary: Per Unit A Contract
