SEBS Program Teacher
West Springfield Middle School
We are looking for a teacher with experience teaching middle school students with Social Emotional and Behavioral difficulties. These students are taught in a small sub-separate environment and go to general education when they have the skills and social emotional regulation to access the curriculum with support.
Qualifications:
- Provide training to staff regarding proper implementation of behavioral programming, teaching strategies, and data collection
- Trained and certified in de-escalation techniques
- Attend IEP meetings and develop IEPs for students in the program.
- Monitor and support the implementation and effectiveness of skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming, and make changes/recommendations to enhance progress
- Provide regular consultation services to teachers and support staff
- Facilitate inclusion opportunities into the general education setting and community settings
- Collaborate with support staff to implement procedures within the classroom setting to assist with carryover of skills targeted in general education setting
- Help in the development of functional behavior assessments, and prepare and analyze results
- Monitor and contribute behavior support plans and development
- Consult with families/guardians and coordinate care/home services and wrap around providers
- Carry out other related duties as may be designated
Salary: Per Unit A Contract
Schedule: Full-time, Mon-Fri, 35 hours per week. This position is for 10 months, during the school year.
