What You Can Expect as a Logistics Coordinator at West Star:
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will report to the Logistics Supervisor and help the company run smoothly by efficiently locating, tracking, and shipping assets based on aircraft needs. Your general responsibilities will include Logistics & Supply Chain, Quality Control and Repair Station tasks, and managing Inventory.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ordering parts and supplies as requested for aircraft maintenance and inventory.
- Properly preparing package shipments to ensure the safe delivery of tools, parts, and supplies to their designated locations.
- Overseeing inventory control, processing daily materials requisitions, and ensuring accurate accounting for these materials.
- Coordinating the movement of tools, parts, and supplies between bases of operations, work-away locations, and vendor warehouses as needed within the assigned geographical region.
- Adhering to Repair Station procedures to ensure proper segregation, security, and storage of parts and materials
- Conducting receiving inspections in compliance with FAA and West Star/Jet East Certified Repair Station guidelines to ensure the accuracy of orders and the completeness of accompanying documentation.
- Ensuring that all necessary FAA paperwork is archived in accordance with West Star/Jet East Repair Station policies and that all repair station documentation is accurate and complete.
- Maintaining a current receiving inspection authorization in the Quality Control and Repair Station, as mandated by the West Star/Jet East Repair Station and Quality Manual.
What You'll Need to Bring with You:
Your Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.
- 1-2 years of experience in logistics, materials, and purchasing preferred.
Your Initiative:
We're looking for team players who are self-motivated and can perform in a fast-paced environment, particularly when working under specific deadlines and time constraints.
Your Sense of Responsibility:
- Using online resources to research and procure parts and supplies.
- Assisting with in-house maintenance and calibrations.
- Sort outgoing and incoming packages daily.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the parts/tool room.
- Actively participating in physical end-of-month inventory counts as required.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Logistics Supervisor.
Other Particulars:
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent walking, bending, squatting, and sitting.
- Routine physical motions with arms and hands.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
Mental Requirements:
- Comprehension and application of regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to troubleshoot or assess system operations.
- Professional collaboration with others.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities (phone, email, etc.).
- Flexibility with working schedule and willingness to work overtime (when available).
Supervision:
- Work under the supervision of the Logistics Supervisor.
- May have responsibilities to supervise others in certain capacities.
Working Conditions:
- Work is subject to extreme temperature variations, from very cold to very hot.
- Location: TEB/HPN
Equipment Used:
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suite.
