Job Description Summary:
Demonstrates understanding and use of project management tools; can determine assignments and timelines. May develop project plans for internal projects. Provides expertise in system selection and evaluation process in coordination with functional departments (areas). Assist in the request for proposals and be involved in pre-contract negotiation of information systems. Assist in the development of system documentation to include relevant Policies & Procedures relating to security, integrity, and functional areas of a system. Demonstrates proficiency as an application administrator for assigned moderate complexity applications. Manage the development and implementation of information systems to ensure desired goals and objectives are met. Provide training and mentoring to Systems Analysts I personnel. Under the direction of the Manager of IS Applications, responsible for an assigned shift as scheduled and for responding to problems 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The employee is subject to call back as required by the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for moderate complexity application support to end-users, including user account maintenance, system security, incident response, coordinating and implementing upgrades, testing, documentation of incident resolutions, and system changes.
- Develops and implements new information systems applications or functionality of moderate to high complexity.
- Completes all phases of moderate scope projects including analysis, design, testing, user training, documentation, implementation, and follow-up.
- Develops and executes test plans.
- Analyzes, documents, and completes are maintenance activities and end-user change requests.
- Follows change management policies and processes.
- Investigates, analyzes, and resolves IS user and system problems.
- Demonstrates knowledge of technical components of supported applications such as basic server knowledge and backend tools.
- Communicates with users, management, vendors, and others via email, phone, and face-to-face interaction for data gathering and status updates for all areas of responsibility assigned.
- Must possess very good written and verbal communication skills.
- Serves as a system administrator for moderate to high complexity applications, including managing installations, upgrades, and daily maintenance.
- Assists system administrators of higher complexity systems.
- Trains and mentors Systems Analyst I personnel.
- Prepares and maintains documentation of all assigned incidents, changes, and project work.
- Participates in process improvement initiatives as identified.
- Contributes to a positive team environment.
- Develop inter-departmental relationships.
- Actively supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization.
- Completes all hospital-wide orientation, complying with policies, and accepting personal responsibility for mandatory in-service requirements.
- Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Trained professional with knowledge of Healthcare/IS normally acquired through an Associates Degree or a Bachelor Degree or 3 years of equivalent work experience.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION: N/A
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) or more years of experience in analysis, design, and support of healthcare systems.
