Job Description Summary:
Provide leadership, direction and administration to all aspects of the clinic operations for West Tennessee Medical Group outpatient cardiology practice except for those involving professional medical judgment, including overseeing the performance of ancillary diagnostic tests procedures performed at the clinic. This position reports to the Director of Management Services and works in conjunction with the clinic medical director and director of cardiology.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care and rules of accrediting bodies.
- Continually monitor operations, programs, and physical properties, and recommend and implement appropriate improvements.
- Work under the supervision of Director of Management Services in implementing the clinic's long range plans as well as CV service line plans.
- Keep Management informed about trends, problems, and activities that impact clinic operations or policies.
- Work with Medical Director, relevant staff, and other departments prior to recommending or in establishing new policies to ensure support and availability of resources.
- Direct and supervise clinic activities through meetings with clinical/support staff on a regular basis to receive input, discuss opportunities, and present reports.
- Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth and development to keep current in the trends in clinic administration, including patient flow, collections, and staff development training.
- Resolve medical and administrative staff issues and keep lines of communication open to ensure high employee morale in the clinic environment.
- Coordinate with director, HR, WTMG, physician recruiting, and the Medical Director for recruitment, development, evaluation, and retention of quality medical and support staff.
- Effectively utilize guest excellence skills at all times and resolve patient complaints according to department policies.
- Monitor staff for exhibiting AIDET skills and provide feedback as needed.
- Participate in the clinic's budget development and monitor upon implementation.
- Generate monthly financial and medical reports as requested by director and medical director.
- Provide training and assistance to Department Supervisors.
- Review monthly reports for trends and inconsistencies that could affect revenue generated.
- Review A/R reports for inconsistencies, workload distribution, and job performance.
- Maintain accounting ledgers for internal controls and inventory management.
- Ensure staff has the necessary tools and resources available to perform job responsibilities.
- Hire and provide training for new clinical and administrative staff positions.
- Assist with the development and implementation of clinical protocols for diagnostic testing and procedures.
- Proactively assist with the continued development of the CV service line of West Tennessee Healthcare.
- Supervise ancillary diagnostic tests and procedures including ECG, echo, stress echo, nuclear stress and vascular procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree or RN with greater than 5 years of management and supervisory experience.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:
- Registered nurse in State of Tennessee, preferred. Other clinical background will be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
- Three years of experience in Management/Supervision in Healthcare field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of healthcare management sufficient to manage, direct, and coordinate the operation of a large medical practice.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of employee development sufficient to ensure organizational productivity.
- Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
- Skills in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgement, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives.
- Skills in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, policy-making bodies, third party payers, patients and the community.

- General knowledge of cardiology and associated diagnostic testing and procedures.
