Job Description Summary:
The Visitor Ambassador is responsible for administering all aspects of general wellness screening and questionnaire for visitors prior to entry into Jackson-Madison County General Hospital (JMCGH). Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide friendly verbal greeting to anyone entering JMCGH.
- Shows compassion, empathy, and kindness in all interactions with patients and visitors and understands that rudeness is never acceptable.
- Ability to understand visitation guidelines and will always make patient/visitor safety a priority.
- Ask every non-staff visitor to stop for a brief screening.
- Perform general wellness screening using the screening tool provided by WTH Administration.
- Screening may require minimal physical contact and verbal questions and is subject to change periodically.
- Provide any personal protective equipment required for visitors by WTH Administration.
- Must be available to work various shifts ranging from 5 am to 8 pm and weekends.
- Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:
- Not required
EXPERIENCE:
- Retail, customer service or other experience as a front line staff preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Adaptability to software applications.
- Knowledge of healthcare environment to effectively assess and prioritize communication needs.
- Above average verbal skills required in giving accurate instruction, communicating effectively with hospital staff, patients and families.
- Ability to work directly with a patient during Virtual Visitation with regard to patient positioning, ability to verbalize, vision, etc.
- Ability to perform office procedures as required.
