Job Description
Full Time Laboratory Assistant - Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays on a rotating basis or Tuesday through Saturday
Performs lab procedures such as sample handling and shipping sample retrieval and organization, platelet sampling and production, lab equipment quality control, contact and recruit special donors. May perform computer aided labeling, component production, and distribution procedures. Some duties are performed under the supervision of a technologist.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Services General Duties
- Maintenance and storage of blood components including temperature monitoring
- Labeling of blood
- Biohazard disposal
- Quality Control and Preventative Maintenance
- bexWise Process and bexWise Affirm Operation
Laboratory Duties
- Qualification and production of Apheresis Platelets and Plasma
- Lot Release
- Sending tubes to testing lab
- Receipt of test results
- Management of SOOT
- RRC Program
EDUCATION: High School diploma required, Associate Degree in Science preferred
EXPERIENCE: Science or medical related experience preferred
