Job Description
The Lead Trainer for Donor Services will develop and maintain a training plan for the Donor Services Collection Department. The Lead Trainer will manage Donor Services trainers and their schedules. Lead Trainer will serve as a liaison with manager and coordinators to determine training requirements, needs, and scheduling training sessions. Lead Trainer will design and lead training sessions from a classroom setting as well as in the field, such as mobile or fixed sites. Under the supervision of the Director of Donor Services, perform donor suitability, histories, and blood collection procedures. Ensures the safety of the donor and safety, purity, and potency of the blood collected. Performs various regulated functions related to the care of the blood after collection, including storage and transportation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages all training of Donor Services Employees.
- Manages all trainers in Donor Services.
- Develops and maintains the training curriculum for donor services.
- Provide support to trainers in how best to reach their students.
- Updating all Training materials as needed
- Assists, coaches, and monitors staff for compliance.
- Assist in Interviewing and hiring Donor Services staff.
- Reviews data and organizes retraining when needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree required.
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
Degree or certification in education
EXPERIENCE: 2 years management or educator/trainer experience required or 5 years of experience as a trainer in a highly regulated industry preferred.
SKILLS:
- Ability to learn Phlebotomy.
- Ability to develop lesson and training plans.
- Ability to manage trainers.
- Language skills must include the ability to read, write, speak English effectively and follow oral and written instructions consistent with policies and procedure, SOPs or other requirements.
- Documentation accuracy required.
- Effective planning and organizational skills
- Ability to function as a key team member in a high-level production environment coupled with strong organization skills.
- Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the staff and the public to enhance LIFELINE’s relationship with the community.
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrates excellent mentoring skill.
- Ability to create testing for new/existing staff.
