West Texas Gas, a leader in natural gas service since 1965, is looking for our next team member in the San Antonio/Uvalde TX area.
Position: Field Technician
Job Summary:
Field Technician will be responsible for multiple pipeline tasks on natural gas transmission and distribution systems including compliance work, pipeline and facility maintenance, project oversight, measurement, meter reading, and daily operations. The candidate will perform duties in office and field environments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- DOT Pipeline Compliance
- Pipeline locating
- Pipeline / Right-of-Way/ Facility maintenance
- Natural gas odor investigation
- Metering, controls
- Cathodic Protection
- Leak Surveys
- Project support
- On-Call, rotation
- Monthly meter downloads
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid driver’s license and meet company insurance requirements
- Good verbal and written skills
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Self-starter that can work alone or in teams
- Operator Qualification certifications testing
- Must be available for after hours on-call as needed
- Must live within 30 miles of Uvalde, TX.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Fieldwork is required, and you must be prepared to work in various weather conditions.
- This role will involve occasional travel to different company locations.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
