Job Summary:
The CNA will provide essential care and support to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and working closely with the nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
Essential Functions:
Patient Care:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Provide mobility assistance, including help with walking, transferring, and positioning.
- Ensure patient comfort by adjusting beds, turning patients, and providing adequate hydration and nourishment.
Medical Assistance:
- Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Assist with basic medical procedures under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Collect specimens for lab tests as directed.
Observation and Reporting:
- Monitor and document patient condition and care provided in medical records.
- Report any changes in patient status or behavior to the nursing staff promptly.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Environmental Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Assist with the cleaning and sterilization of equipment and supplies.
- Ensure patient rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and linens.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the nursing team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Participate in training and continuing education programs to stay current with best practices in patient care.
- Support and assist fellow CNAs and healthcare staff as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
- Conforms to all applicable Agency policies and procedures.
- Participates actively in continuing education and in-services.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information and business trade practices.
- Assumes accountability for reporting incidents and complaints according to Agency policy.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education:
- Must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of Nursing Assistant course and certification as required by the state in which employed.
Experience:
- One (1) year experience in a comparable job classification
Training:
License / Certification:
- Driver’s license and proof of current auto liability insurance; no listing in the OIG Excluded Provider listing.
Has successfully completed one of the following:
A) Training program/competency eval as specified in §418.76 (b) (c) of the Medicare regulations.
B) Competency eval program that meets §418.76 (c)
C) Nurse Aide training/competency eval program approved by the state and listed in good standing on the state nurse aide registry:
D) State Licensure program that meets requirements of §418.76
Environmental Conditions:
Works under a variety of conditions in facilities and offices; ability to work flexible schedule, ability to travel
locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather. Moderate noise level; tasks may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens; moderate stress and emotional demands.
Physical Requirements: Sitting is required. Requires ability to always handle stressful situations in a calm
and courteous manner. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and agency
needs. Ability to travel.
