Job Description
West Texas Pediatric Dentistry is thrilled to announce an opening for a dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled individual looking to advance their career in pediatric dental care. This FULL-TIME or PART-TIME position plays a critical role in our commitment to providing top-notch dental services to the younger population. Please note, this role is based onsite at our well-equipped facility and is not eligible for remote work.
As a vital member of our dental team, the Dental Hygienist will work closely with our dentist and other providers to deliver exceptional dental care, focusing on preventive treatments and the oral health of our patients. Our practice is equipped with the latest advancements in dental technology and we prioritize the ongoing professional development of our staff through training and paid continuing education opportunities. We pride ourselves on our family-friendly work environment, operating Monday through Friday from 8am to 3pm, with holidays and paid time off (PTO) included as part of the FULL-TIME employment package. We are also willing to negotiate production-based pay with the right candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental cleaning, scaling, root planning, and sealant application.
- Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive dental care.
- Assess oral health conditions, review health history, and plan appropriate treatments with the dental team.
- Assist in the management of dental and medical emergencies.
- Implement infection control protocol and sterilization procedures per OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain patient records with accurate treatment documentation and progress notes.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide guidance on oral health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Participate in meetings and educational training sessions to update skills and knowledge.
- Work closely with pediatric patients to make them feel comfortable during dental procedures.
- Conduct screenings and assist the dentist during examination and treatment planning.
