Description
Works under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist in assisting with therapy activities as well as completing departmental housekeeping responsibilities including sterilizing / cleaning equipment and treatment supplies. Works in the food program to purchase and prepare food. Maintains supply inventory including ordering and performs other clerical responsibilities as assigned.
- Assists with transporting patients at the schools and in the clinic as appropriate.
- Assists with pool therapy as needed.
- Performs general housekeeping within the department.
- Assists with patient care as directed by the therapist.
- Maintain current and accurate cleaning / ordering logs.
- Seeks guidance regarding questions related to patient care.
- Monitors expiration dates of food program supplies.
- Safely prepares and stores food.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
This position requires endurance to perform tasks over long periods of work hours and the ability to perform essential functions without posing a "direct threat" in the workplace. Must be able to lift 55 pounds and able to assist in a 2-person transfer from chair to mat and / or floor.
This is a part time position, working up to 20 hours per week.
Requirements
This position requires the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), have basic computer skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to relate to and work well with children of all ages and ability levels. The ability to lift, walk, and stand for long periods of time is required.
