POSITION SUMMARY
The Technician Supervisor is responsible for overseeing ophthalmic clinic duties while managing clinic staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Practices with ethical and legal guidelines
Participates in maintaining a safe environment for staff and patients
Must be able to travel
Ensures travel equipment is maintained
Coordinates team schedules
Manages and overseas technician performance
Ensures patients are screened and appropriate tests are performed
Ensures patient paper work (forms, insurance, letters, etc.) is complete
Assesses charts for completion and compliance before filing
Maintain patient confidentiality
Return patient phone calls
Fills in wherever needed
Team player and participates with others to accomplish tasks
Makes a positive contribution to morale
Seek educational opportunities and accepts responsibility for own professional growth and development
Collaborates with Human Resources with regard to employee issues
Scribing
Other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Technician Supervisor will work primarily in a clinic setting. Travel required (see TRAVEL).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to lift patients with assistance (occasionally)

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
Previous supervisory/management experience
Experience in the healthcare field
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Ophthalmic Technician Experience strongly preferred
Surgical Technician Training strongly preferred
CERTIFICATIONS
COA Required and MA Certification
