West Texas Sports and Wellness Institute is dedicated to providing expert personal training services that motivate, educate, and guide clients towards their fitness goals. We have been contracted with Goodfellow Air Force Base to provide strength and conditioning programing and coaching to the 312 TRS Fire Academy.
Summary
As a Strength and Conditioning Coach at West Texas Sports and Wellness, you will play a pivotal role in helping firefighter students achieve their health and fitness objectives. This position is essential in developing high-quality, military - firefighters that are ready for service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial fitness assessments to evaluate students physical conditions and establish baseline measurements, as well as identify those "at risk" of failing physical exams specific to the Fire Academy.
- Optimize individual and squadron physical readiness and ability to perform tasks required for the 312 TRS mission.
- Lead small group training sessions while ensuring proper exercise techniques are followed to prevent injury.
- Motivate students throughout their journey at the Fire Academy, offering encouragement and accountability to help them stay on track.
- Educate clients about health, nutrition, and the benefits of various exercises to enhance their overall wellness.
- Monitor client progress regularly and adjust training programs as necessary to ensure continued improvement.
- Imput data of initial fitness assessments and progress throughout the program.
- Maintain a clean and safe training environment for all students during sessions.
Qualifications
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Nationally accredited Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) with a strong understanding of exercise science principles.
- Experience in developing customized workout plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Knowledge of active recovery and mobility techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students and military officers of varying backgrounds.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their fitness requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and work ethic.
