Description
This is a registered professional engineer position. Employee serves as project engineer on City's projects. Employee independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering principles, techniques and criteria as applicable to City projects. Employee is responsible for the execution of planning, design, construction and post-construction processes or related engineering work. Employee may also be assigned to perform plan review on private development projects. Supervision of other subordinate staff as assigned.
Starting Pay : $42.15 - $57.95 per hour ($87,667 - $120,542 annually) ; additional pay depending on experience

Schedule : 4 x 10-hour shifts Monday - Thursday, Hybrid work opportunities may be available

Supervision Received : Under the direction of an engineering division section manager or city engineer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Use of agency specific software application programs.
- Advanced ability to manage field inspection activities and construction management as assigned.
- Specific elements of plan / specifications review.
- Process of coordinating and / or supervising consultants, contract employees and office personnel and the elements of safety in the work environment.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design and CADD Software.
- Principles and methods of conflict resolution.
- Skilled in the analysis, review and preparation of drawings and designs adhering to projected tolerances and industry and / or city standards.
- Resolving major concerns, obstacles as well as other elements, and / or considerations in the development and supervision of engineering projects.
- Principles in advanced cost estimating.
- Engineering project planning, design, development, and supervision.
- Process of ensuring standards of project pricing, contract administration, and other fiscal allocations.
- Principles of project scope, consultation and general project oversight including the management of office and project personnel.
