What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant (NFR-CRS) position at West Virginia Department Department of Health?
Primary responsibility will be to enter autopsy, toxicology, medical, legal, geographical, logistical and other pertinent information in National Child Fatality Database. Duties will be accomplished by becoming familiar with the National Center for review and prevention of Child Deaths Data-Base and Platforms; working with and reviewing autopsy files, medical records, early intervention records, law enforcement records, cops/APS records and related information as it is available. Extracted information will be entered timely and accurately into the National CDR database and other databases. Position will attend and take meeting notes at all fatality review meeting and transcribe notes into meaningful minutes which will be multi-purpose in use. Will work with epidemiologist to develop strategies to accurately capture information gleaned from all intake, meeting, conferences and training sessions. Position will also perform all duties as assigned. Familiarity with MS, Word Software and other PC Applications is a necessity. Contacts at this level are frequent and of a confidential or sensitive nature, requiring tact and ability to judge which inquiries can be answered or must be referred. Performs related work as required. Other duties as assigned. Position will encounter matters and duties related to violent deaths, decomposition and adverse psychological effects.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
AND
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing routine office work.
OR
Substitution: College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.

Pay: $29,070.00 - $49,360.00 per year
