Job Title: Middle School Teaching/Secondary Education Teacher
Reports to: Principal
Job Summary: Provide high-quality instruction to students and ensure they meet the learning objectives and standards for their grade level.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the requirements of WV College and Career Readiness, the district's curriculum program, and demonstrate preparation.
2. Utilize 21st-century technology skills to enhance the teaching and learning process.
3. Deliver rigorous instruction to all students, taking into account individual learning styles.
4. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles and abilities.
5. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by WVDE and board policies, and administrative regulations.
6. Plan and use instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that cater to the diverse needs of students assigned.
7. Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning styles and use results to inform school-wide academic performance goals and instructional activities.
8. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students, following Individual Education Plans (IEP) guidelines.
9. Work with colleagues to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods, adhering to district requirements.
10. Supervise teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s), planning and assigning tasks accordingly.
11. Help students develop effective study methods and habits, providing support and guidance when needed.
12. Regularly assess student achievement through formative and summative testing.
13. Take on additional responsibilities, such as sponsoring extracurricular activities, planning co-curricular programs, and organizing events as assigned by the principal.
14. Maintain a positive role model for students, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.

16. Create a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, considering the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
