What are the responsibilities and job description for the 21st Century Social Worker and Counselor position at West Virginia Department of Education?
- Plan, implement, and coordinate the day-to-day operation of the extended school year program
- Check and verify student attendance each day.
- Address student discipline issues using WVDE policy 4373.
- Communicate with parents/ guardians to address student needs and concerns.
- Engage in developing project-based and other activities with a particular focus on Math, ELA, and STEM.
- Ensure the facility is cleaned.
- Work with school personnel to identify and recruit students to the program.
- Coordinate with district personnel and administrators in developing and implementing assessment strategies to identify student needs and develop corresponding program learning modules to support student needs consistent with school improvement plan goals.
- Implement technology to enhance student learning.
- Work collaboratively within the building and throughout the district, to align and partner with existing programs and departments.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
- Clock in and out using Celeritime - Verify time at the end of each week. Contact supervisor for any errors or missed punches
- Qualifications:
- Must be a current Lincoln County Schools Social Worker and Counselor
- Strong Communication Skills (verbal and written).
- Terms of Employment:
- LCBOE Schedule #17 Level XII- Professional “Posted” Supplemental or Extra Curricular rate of pay shall be $25.00 per hour.
- Funding Source- 21st Century Grant
- May have one extra preparation day to get ready for program initiation
- Expected Start date - Feb 2025
- Expected end date - June 2025
- Monday - Thursday only - 3:00pm to 6 - based on bus schedule and student transportation.
