Authorized/Certified (Non-Paid) Assistant Track and Field/Cross Country Coach

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 2024-2025 School Term

SALARY: Non-Paid

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Certified as a teacher by the West Virginia Board of Education or holds
coaching authorization granted by the State Superintendent of Schools.
2. Exhibit knowledge of the assigned sport, as well as of the duties and
responsibilities of a head coach and the ability to perform the duties and
responsibilities as demonstrated in the personal interview.
3. Specialized training in the area of assigned sport.
4. Good evaluations and/or recommendations from professional associates,
employers, and/or supervisors.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel and parents.
6. Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and manage the athletic program.
2. Foster a climate conducive to learning and good sportsmanship.
3. Establish and maintain proper record keeping systems.
4. Promote and maintain positive student/coach/ administrator/parent/community
relationships.
5. Provide good leadership in the academic and extra-curricular programs.
6. Practice positive public relations.
7. Maintain professional work habits.
8. Continually upgrade skills as a coach.
9. Perform other job related duties as assigned by the athletic director or principal.
