ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT : The West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (WVSDB)
LOCATION : Romney, West Virginia
To serve as an instructional aide to deaf and hard-of-hearing or blind low vision students enrolled in the Literacy Pirates Camp ; to assist the teachers in the delivery of instruction during the summer enrichment program at the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Will adhere to WVBE Policy 5902 - "Employee Code of Conduct" and the applicable WVSDB personnel policies for employee performance.

QUALIFICATIONS :
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach, stand, walk, lift, grasp, write, talk, hear, see, use technology such as computers and multimedia equipment, and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift and / or move 50-100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten or typed material, the ability to adjust focus. The employee may frequently lift and / or move at least 50-100 pounds. He / she shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed drugs while in the workplace. Alcohol and controlled substances which affect employee productivity, safety, or judgement will not be tolerated.

SALARY :
Hourly rate of pay is calculated pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-8a, in accordance with WVSDB Service Personnel Pay Schedule, B, C or D Scale, commensurate with experience and education level.
Hours of work will be scheduled as needed by the immediate supervisor during the camp. Five days during the camp and one prep day may be scheduled. Workdays may exceed 7.5 hours for scheduled trips. Maximum billable hours for this contract = 52.5.
JOB CONTINGENCIES :
Employment is dependent and contingent upon the number of attendees enrolled in the summer camp. Must be available to work every day of the camp as listed in the posting.
EVALUATION :
Performance evaluation in accordance with West Virginia Board of Education Policy 5314.
