What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Technician Instructor position at West Virginia Department of Education?
- Hold, obtain, and maintain proper certification and licensure.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Electrical Trades including but not limited to Basic Safety, Electrical Safety, Electrical Circuits; Electrical Theory; National Electrical Code ®; Device Boxes; Hand Bending; Raceways and Fittings; Conductors and Cables; Basic Electrical Construction Drawings; Residential Electrical Services; Electrical Test Equipment; Alternating Current; Motors: Theory and Application; Electric Lighting; Conduit Bending; Pull and Junction Boxes; Conductor Installations; Cable Tray; Conductor Terminations and Splices; Grounding and Bonding; Circuit Breakers and Fuses; Control Systems and Fundamental Concepts; Motor Controls; Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and Variable Frequency Drives.
- Responsible for planning and implementing Summers County Schools’ standards-based curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
- Responsible for implementing adopted and supplemental academic programs.
- Responsible for implementing technology skills.
- Responsible for planning and implementing collaborative model with s Special education students and teachers.
- May be responsible for planning & implementing designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school such as curricular fairs, awards programs and field trips.
- Be accountable for individual student achievement.
- Ensure student safety at all times.
- Responsible for planning and implementing personalized learning for all students.
- Strong working/communication skills with students, parents and peers.
- Willing to implement any other programs designated by principal for school improvement.
- Includes supervisory and/or other job related duties as assigned by principal or superintendent.
- Maintain and upgrade his/her professional skills.
- Maintain professional work habits.
- Maintain a safe and profesional work and classroom environment.
- Supervise students at all times.
- Any other job related duties assigned by the principal or superintendent.
- Holds a high school diploma or GED and has a minimum of 4 years documented wage earning experience. Such experience has to include some residential, some commercial and some industrial experience. All work experience has to consist of above ground structural wiring in accordance with the NEC.
- Has Master Electrician Certification.
- Must pass required testing and certification program to be a Career Technical Education instructor (CTE).
- Drug test conducted pursuant to Summers County Board of Education Policy IV-H-1
- Criminal Background Check conducted pursuant to Summers County Board of Education Policy IV-G-4
