Description: Guidance Counselor
Job Summary:To provide a comprehensive developmental counseling program addressing teh academic, career, personal/social development of all students in grades PK-5, 4-8, or 9-12. The counselor provides activities to meet the needs of students,consults with teachers, staff, and parents to enhance their effectiveness in helping students, and provides support to other elementary and secondary educatoinal programs.
Qualifications:
1. Master's Degree in school counseling, in accordance with WV Code 18A-3-1
2. Sensitivity to the problems and needs of youth from varying ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds (emotional, social, personal, and academic)
3. Ability to work with at risk students
4. WVDE Endorsement in School counseling
