Job Title: Instructional Aide (Special Education) with Transportation Duties
About the Position:
This is a full-time Instructional Aide position at Bluefield Middle School, reporting to the school administration. The successful candidate will work directly with students in special education classrooms and provide transportation services as needed.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with instructional activities, such as preparing materials, supervising students during lessons, and providing individual support to students.
- Provide transportation for students to and from school and extracurricular activities, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including student attendance, progress notes, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- At least one year of experience working with students in a special education setting is desired.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record are necessary.
- Ability to pass a background check and maintain confidentiality.
Work Environment:
This position is located at Bluefield Middle School, within the Mercer County Schools district. The successful candidate will be expected to adhere to all school policies and procedures, as well as follow guidelines for transportation and student supervision.
