    Job Title: National Junior Honors Society Advisor
    Location: Taylor County Middle School
    To Whom Responsible: Building Principal
    STIPEND: $30.00 Per Hour up to 25 Hours
    EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon Board Approval, through end of school year
    Time: 3:30-5:30 Monday through Friday as needed

    Job Overview: The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Advisor is responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and execution of all NJHS activities at the school. The Advisor serves as a mentor and guide to NJHS members, fostering leadership, academic excellence, service, citizenship, and character. This role involves supporting students in maintaining the standards of NJHS while promoting a positive and impactful presence within the school and the broader community.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Leadership and Mentorship
    • Guide NJHS members in understanding and upholding the five pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.
    • Encourage student growth in leadership and community involvement.
    • Serve as a role model and mentor for students in the organization.
    Chapter Operations
    • Organize and facilitate regular NJHS meetings, ensuring clear agendas and productive discussions.
    • Oversee the selection process for new members, ensuring it aligns with NJHS national standards and school policy.
    • Maintain accurate records of membership, service projects, and chapter activities.
    Service Projects and Community Engagement
    • Collaborate with students to plan and execute meaningful service projects that benefit the school and local community.
    • Ensure projects align with NJHS’s mission and promote student-led initiatives.
    • Coordinate volunteer opportunities and partnerships with community organizations.
    Communication and Collaboration
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between NJHS, school administration, faculty, and parents.
    • Communicate effectively with members and stakeholders about upcoming events, deadlines, and responsibilities.
    • Promote NJHS achievements and activities through newsletters, social media, or school platforms.
    Academic and Character Standards
    • Support students in maintaining the academic and behavioral standards required for NJHS membership.
    • Address any concerns regarding member eligibility in coordination with school administration.
    Event Coordination
    • Plan and facilitate the annual NJHS induction ceremony, recognizing new members and their achievements.
    • Organize recognition events, fundraisers, and celebrations for NJHS members.
    Qualifications:
    • Current teaching certification and employment within the school.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and community members.
    • Experience in mentoring or working with student organizations is preferred.

    Work Schedule:
