Position Overview
Central to the implementation of the community school strategy at Midway Elementary is the Community in Schools (CIS) Coordinator role. Reporting directly to the school principal, this position is responsible for planning and aligning all programs, services, and opportunities collaboratively.
The CIS Coordinator will oversee the provision of high-quality programs and services adhering to the community school model. This includes early childhood programs, expanded learning and enrichment opportunities, health services, parent/family engagement, adult education, direct material assistance, and interventions targeted at chronically absent students. Additionally, the Coordinator will facilitate the delivery of appropriate community resources to support identified students' academic success and graduation.
In close partnership with school staff, parents, volunteers, and community partners, the CIS Coordinator will foster relationships to ensure student well-being and educational achievement.
