    Description: Site Coordinator for Summer School , SES

    Salary/Terms: Salary is $27.00 per NCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. Program will run from June 23, through August 1, 2025. No School on July 4th, 2025. Paid for actual days worked.

    Evaluation: Evaluations conducted as defined in West Virginia Board of Education Policy 5310 and NCBOE Policy 3220.

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Job Summary:
    The Coordinator will work in various grant funded programs to supervise summer school programing at the elementary schools activities related to specific subject matter in an extended year setting.
    Qualifications:
    • Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2 preferred.
    • Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.
    • Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a preferred.

    Expectations:

    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Work with school administrator(s) and teachers to identify students with deficient academic skills based on available classroom performance records and test data.
    • Develop and deliver a site-based tutoring program for selected students.
    • Monitor and report student progress as required.
    • Provide subject-related enrichment activities.
    • Maintain and submit student records for attendance.
    • Submit progress reports to parents and school as required.
    • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
    • Assist with programs planned for family members of students and community members.
    • Arrive and depart at designated times.
    • Maintain student confidentiality.
    • Use planning time effectively.
    • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as set forth in Nicholas County Board of Education Policy and as directed by immediate supervisor, building principal, or superintendent of schools.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten or printed material, and the ability to adjust focus.

    The duties of this job require the employee to drive to and from various schools throughout Nicholas County. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff members.

    Work Environment:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Most commonly, the educational setting is indoors with outdoor settings for recess and filed trip activities. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate (20-60 dB). Exceptions include gymnasiums as well as vocational/technical laboratories where the noise levels may be moderate to loud (60-90 dB).
