POSITION 25P40 TITLE: Summer Substitute Teachers for Summer School Programs
LOCATION: Central/Countywide or John Marshall (Both Summer School Programs)
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimal qualifications will include an AB degree and valid WV teaching certification at grade levels commensurate with the assignment. The applicant must possess the ability to successfully manage an instructional program.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Function as a contributing member of the school staff in all aspects of the school program
2. Assess and evaluate the total health and developmental status of each student through the use of appropriate evaluative techniques
3. Administer medication to children for whom medication has been prescribed for the treatment of chronic disabilities or illness
4. Perform specialized health procedures
5. Train school staff in emergency care, specialized health care, and medication administration procedures
6. Provide health education and adolescent development instruction to students as appropriate
7. Assist students, parents and teachers in obtaining optimum health by stimulating behavior change through individual and group health counseling
8. Maintain and monitor school health records
9. Ensure compliance with school health regulations
10. Assist in the appropriate placement of students with exceptional needs
11. Assist students, parents, and teachers to adapt to student’s chronic health problems
12. Protect the well-being of children and youth
13. Assure a well-nourished school population
14. Set and maintain standards of emergency care to minimize the effects of accidents and illness in the school
15. Assure that each student will be a health educated person and a knowledgeable health consumer
16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Special Education Director

EMPLOYMENT TERM: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM daily, up to 16 days of employment as needed. June 17, 2025, is a planning day that staff must report, and then Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays from June 24, 2025, through July 24, 2025.
SALARY: Salary based on experience and education level per MCS BOE salary schedule located at https://boe.mars.k12.wv.us/mcs-salary/.
