Jackie Withrow Hospital is a long-term care, state operated facility, located in Beckley, WV.
General Description
Under direct supervision, performs unskilled work at the entry level operating regular and large-capacity washing machines, tumble dryers, extractors, folding machines, steam presses and related laundry equipment at Jackie Withrow Hospital. Mixes and adds soaps, detergents, bleach and other specified compounds in accordance with amount, type and condition of laundry being treated. Counts pieces of laundry and checks supply of soaps, detergents and other supplies used daily. Checks the operation of machinery to assure the laundry is properly processed. Press clothing and linen with steam presses or by hand iron. Cleans laundry room, sorting and soiled linen tubs. Work has limited latitude to vary methods and procedures. May keep a log of activities. Performs related work as required.
Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a criminal background check and a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. This is a tobacco free facility.
