Under general supervision, the Transportation DMV Agent Floor Manager performs lead worker/supervisory work in a DMV Regional Office overseeing activities of DMV Agents. Performs full-performance level public contact work involving the receipt, auditing, processing, recording and issuance of drivers’ licenses, vehicle registrations, vehicle titles and related documents. This position is responsible for delegation of assignments, reviewing work, and training employees in work methods due to policy and procedural changes. Reviews and processes documents. Assist customers in person, relating to the processes to include explaining fees, documentation, forms, taxes, and any other requirement incorporated in the driver or vehicle transaction process with the WV Division of Motor Vehicles. Handles unusual or complex driver license or vehicle licensing and title processes. Other duties as required.Pay Grade 12

REQUIRED TRAINING/EDUCATION: Graduation from standard high school or the equivalentREQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Four years of full time or equivalent part time paid experience in bookkeeping, sales, cashiering or related public contact work; one year of which must have been in a lead worker or administrative support capacity.Substitution: College credit from an accredited college or university, business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A valid driver’s license is required and must be maintained. Work schedules are assigned and rotated on a regular basis. Overtime hours may be required. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must consent to fingerprinting and a criminal background investigation. Must obtain and maintain certification to conduct various types of driver skills testing

- Assists the Regional Office Assistant Manager in the planning, assigning, review, and training of employees in work methods.• Audits DMV Agents at close of business and verifies transactions.• Authorization to make corrections/voids to DMV Agent transactions in the cash register system.• In the absence of the Regional Office Assistant Manager, has established authority by management to delegate job assignments, work schedules, approve leave requests, and any other required lead worker/supervisory function.• Assists customers in person regarding state law, policy, or procedures relating to the processes to include explaining fees, documentation, forms, taxes, and any other requirement incorporated in the driver or vehicle transaction process.• Reviews and interprets state code, policies, and procedures to proficiently process transactions.• Administer various types of knowledge/skills tests for driver’s license issuance.• Reviews customer documentation to ensure that all information is complete and accurate.• Enters data into the computer to access previous data and update new file information • Assesses fees, processes cashier transactions, balances cash drawer at the end of business day.• Deals with complex or hostile situations with customers for resolution• Mails forms per customer requests and/or inquiries, composing correspondence to explain documents.• Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver's license is required.
