Under administrative direction, the Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Regional Office Manager manages Regional Office to include the operation, policies, work processes and application and interpretation of laws, regulations, and division procedures. Plans and organizes work procedures, directing the procedures, development, and evaluation of employees. Responsible for the administrative oversight of funds and inventory. Other duties as required.Pay Grade 17
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
REQUIRED TRAINING/EDUCATION: Bachelor'sdegree from a regionally accredited college or university.Substitution: Experience, as described below, may be substituted for the required training/education through an established formula. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Six years (6) of full time or equivalent part time paid experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity. No substitution. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: A valid driver’s license is required and must be maintained. Work schedules are assigned and rotated on a regular basis. Overtime hours may be required. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must consent to fingerprinting and a criminal background investigation. Must obtain and maintain certification to conduct various types of driver skills testing.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Plan, direct, and oversee and coordinate staff activities, such as hiring, training, approving leave, work schedules, and evaluating performance in a DMV Regional Office.• Prepares and presents oral and written reports, audits financial and inventory transactions.• Interprets and applies departmental policies and regulations for employees and others in state government.• Supervises the monitoring of the Regional Office activities to determine compliance with state and federal regulations, policies, and work standards. • Compiles and analyzes data for reporting purposes.• Recommends selection of staff (as part of the interview process).• Reviews and interprets state code, policies, and procedures to ensure proficiency in the processing of transactions.• Administer various types of knowledge/skills tests for driver’s license issuance. • Reviews customer documentation as required to ensure that all information is complete and accurate.• Responsible for reconciliation of daily funds and inventory, to include conducting voids. • Deals with unusual or hostile situations, in addition to complex driver, registration of titling issues to resolve customer issues.• Conducts corrective/disciplinary actions as required or directed• Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver's license is required.
