The Transportation Worker 4 Equipment Operator will be assigned to the District Heavy Maintenance Headquarters, Disforce Bridge Crew. Performs advanced level, specialized skilled work in construction and maintenance of highways and bridges. Duties include: Operating an under-bridge inspection truck and/or tractor trailer low drag to transport equipment. Operating a variety of other motorized highway maintenance equipment when required. Responsible for manipulating levers and other controls that move articulating booms. Responsible for mentoring and leading lower level transportation workers. Performs other related duties as required. May be exposed to hazardous working conditions and inclement weather. The selected applicant will be placed in a U.S. Department of Labor apprenticeship program. Progression through the apprenticeship program is dependent upon hours completed, proficiency in work, training completed, as well as maintaining and/or obtaining a Commercial Drivers License (CDL). In the area of assignment of Equipment Operator, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.Pay Grade 15HHourly Rate: $26.8713

REQUIRED TRAINING/EDUCATION: No formal education required.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Equipment Operator: A valid class A or B Commercial Driver’s License is required for the area of assignment for Equipment Operator AND five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience operating light, medium, or heavy equipment in a commercial, industrial, or warehouse environment or operating construction equipment, maintenance equipment used in the maintenance or construction of roadways, or operating core drilling equipment in a coal, oil, or gas extraction field.No Substitutions.
