Parks/Cacapon Resort State Park Under the general supervision of the Park Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and Ground Maintenance Supervisors, performs work at the full performance level by being responsible for the appearance, repair, and general care of the grounds and golf course of Cacapon Resort State Park. Plants grass, flowers, shrubs, and trees. Mows grass and trims shrubbery.
Performs necessary preventative measures for insect and vermin control and against other damaging effects. Assists in the selection of supplies and equipment. Has some latitude to vary methods and procedures within prescribed guidelines. May perform additional routine maintenance work and/or assign work to other staff. Essential job functions include: (any specific position in this class may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples listed cover all of the duties that may be assigned) assigns work details to employees, supervising and participating in grounds maintenance, including trimming trees, cutting grass and cultivating plants and shrubs, makes improvements to walks, lanes, sheds, and benches, including painting and minor repairs, and performs preventative maintenance pertaining to grounds area. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: knowledge of grounds keeping and simple horticulture practices.
Knowledge of the materials and tools used in such work and or ordinary plant diseases and pest control. Ability to maintain and make ordinary repairs to machinery and equipment. Ability to make Improvements and minor repairs to walkways, lanes, parking lots, shed and benches. Employee will be required to work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and all environments. Must in a courteous and professional manner, and maintain efficient working relationships with other staff members. Must be knowledgeable of and comply with all Division of Personnel and State Park policies, procedures, and regulations. Must have flexibility in work schedule. Will be required to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Will be required to wear a park uniform.
Training: No formal education required.
Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in housekeeping, custodial, or general labor work.

Pay: $27,240.00 - $45,973.00 per year
