The West Virginia Housing Development Fund (the “Fund”), a quasi-governmental organization providing safe, decent affordable housing across West Virginia, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accountant – Accounting and Administration in our Charleston Office.
Job Summary: This employee will assist the Senior Manager – Accounting in maintaining accurate and updated financial and accounting records. The work requires the applications of established procedures, attention to detail, and applications of generally accepted accounting practices. This employee will have access to sensitive and confidential data; therefore, confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares daily general ledger entries and deposits;
- Prepares various reconciliations;
- Prepares daily deposit, which includes recording and transferring daily loan servicing activity;
- Prepares daily cash write up and investments;
- Assists with imaging and review of various documents;
- Prepares various accounting schedules, analyses, and reports as required; and
- Serves as backup for various functions within the department

Required Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or demonstrates comparable experience in Accounting/Finance. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (proficient in Excel).
Preferred Education/Experience: Experience with Sage Accounting software.
