POSITION SUMMARY
Performs skilled and semi-skilled tasks relative to care of airport facility and other buildings and grounds work as may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
· Performs routine maintenance activities.
· Performs heavy cleaning duties.
· Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
· Gathers and empties trash.
· Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
· Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
· Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
· Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
· Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
· Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
· Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
· Notifies Supervisor regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions. Ability to use and maintain ground keeping equipment and landscaping, including cleaning snow from sidewalks. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Educational Requirements: High school graduation or equivalent.
Experience Requirements: Experience in basic maintenance techniques, including operation of equipment. Some experience in safety procedures and practices related to work.
Certifications, Licenses Required: Upon Hire- West Virginia State Driver’s License.
Working Conditions: Subject to a variety of extreme weather conditions; susceptible to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards associated with equipment and maintenance duties; subject to constant and extreme noise, poor lighting, and fumes.
Other Requirements: Must pass pre-employment drug testing and submit to periodic testing required by applicable laws. Must pass ten-year criminal history background check as required by the Transportation Security Administration. Must pass recurring SIDA with Escort; AFDQ; Fire Warden; Fire Safety; Active Shooter; Stormwater Training; Vehicle Search and ID Verification Training. Subject to work schedule with varying days off. Available for recall during non-duty hours for emergencies, snow removal or other related duties.
