The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Incumbents may be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Line Service Technician 1 is responsible for parking, greeting, towing, and wing-walking all aircraft on the general aviation ramp and assisting with all customer requests related to ramp operations. The position will also include fueling/deicing general aviation, military, and commercial aircraft as well as the upkeep of the fuel farm and fueling equipment. This position will also complete necessary training to service airline flights as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Meet and greet all arriving aircraft on GA ramp with a courteous and positive attitude.
· Marshal and chock all incoming and departing aircraft in accordance with company standards.
· Perform all aircraft movements to and from hangars in accordance with all company policies.
· Aircraft Operations Area FOD inspections.
· Provide world class customer service by delivering a personalized service experience to all clientele.
· Ensure all departing aircraft have all requested service amenities such as catering, water, coffee, ice, newspapers, and lavatory services.
· Resolve customer requests, questions, and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
· Refuel aircraft and equipment according to customers’ instructions.
· Aircraft de-icing.
· Perform daily inspections on fuel trucks and other equipment.
· Ensure all fuel trucks and ground service equipment are in safe operating order and running properly.
· Builds strong relationships with base and regular customers.
· Transport customers by vehicle to and from airport terminal, local hotels, and restaurants.
· Load and unload baggage, cargo, and freight on and off aircraft.
· Escort passengers, crew members, and vendors unfamiliar with the airport grounds as requested to ensure safety compliance.
· Complete janitorial and seasonal maintenance duties such as snow removal, landscaping, grass mowing, and light maintenance duties related to FBO facilities and equipment.
· Sump fuel tanks and trucks daily, weekly, or monthly and record findings to assist with fuel quality control measures.
· Maintain and exhibit a strong knowledge of proper safety procedures and situational awareness and adhere to all procedures and rules for safety and security.
· Follow oral and written directions; complete assigned duties, and training in proper timeframe, as well as maintain good working relationships with the team.
· Frequent use of two-way radios to communicate effectively.
· Uphold policies and procedures outlined in the CRW employee handbook and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely; analyze and respond safely and appropriately to emergency situations; perform heavy physical labor; follow and give oral and written instructions. Deliver a world class level of customer service to every customer according to CRW standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements: High school graduation or equivalent.
Experience Requirements: Considerable experience in safety procedures and practices related to work. Previous customer service experience preferred.
Certifications, Licenses Required: Must have a valid West Virginia State Driver’s License upon hire.
Other Requirements: Must be able to operate equipment such as tow bars and tugs, various hand tools, radios, ground power units, fuel trucks, and other vehicles. Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment, bending, standing, and climbing. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, and high noise levels.
Subject to work schedule with varying shifts and days off including early morning, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be available for recall during non-duty hours for emergencies, snow removal or other related duties.
Must pass pre-employment drug testing and submit to periodic testing required by applicable laws. Must pass ten-year criminal history background check as required by the Transportation Security Administration. Must pass recurring SIDA training. Other airport training may be required.
