Job Description Summary
Provides a variety of skilled and semiskilled work in the maintenance, alteration, and repair of institutional facilities.
Maintains safe and functioning premises including buildings and grounds. Provides preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, replacement installation and new installation of necessary building equipment. Provides services for special events and daily operations.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to
Repair, maintain, troubleshoot and install electrical equipment.
Repair, maintain, and install plumbing fixtures.
Provide basic carpentry to buildings and facilities.
Provide installation of fixtures.
Conduct preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment. Monitor and make alterations to program schedule and set points on DDC. Troubleshoot, repair, or assist service technician with repairs to HVAC equipment. Install and commission smart actuators. Install MCV actuators. Run duct work.
Conduct monthly preventative maintenance, inspect / test fire extinguishers, exit lights, first aid kits, tamper switches, emergency generator, emergency eyewash and shower stations.
Preventative maintenance and repair of maintenance and custodial equipment.
Maintain college vehicles, check fluid levels and tire pressure, fill as needed, clean interior and exterior and take vehicles in for service.
Assist others in the maintenance / custodial department. May need to take direction form higher level maintenance positions.
Campus Services :
Event set ups and tear down.
Removing classroom furniture for custodial to perform floor care.
Collect relocate recyclable materials.
Bank run, mail run and package delivery.
Direct or assist students, faculty, staff, contractors, vendors, and the community visitors with their needs.
Open and secure building perimeters and classroom doors, as needed..
Grounds keeping :
Cutting, trimming, and bagging of grass.
Weed removal.
Trim hedges and trees.
General exterior cleaning.
Remove snow and ice from parking lots of sidewalks using Kubota, lawn tractor, truck with plow, shovels etc.
Spread salt on sidewalks and in parking lots.
Install sign posts and hang signs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education :
High school diploma or GED
Experience :
1 year Grounds Keeping
1 year Operations- Setup, Securing Doors
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities; Additional Information
The ability to react and respond to unscheduled emergencies and events.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
The ability to use and the knowledge of how to operate power tools, lawn equipment, and cleaning equipment.
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of safety protocol
