The College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a (Remote) Technical / Grant Writer, Broadband Workforce TAC.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Project Coordinator for the ARC Broadband Industry Grant Technical Assistance Program, the Technical / Grant Writer will provide technical assistance to eligible entities in their pursuit of grants to support workforce development initiatives to foster broadband expansion primarily through grants managed by the West Virginia Office of Broadband. The Technical / Grant Writer will initially focus on the pre-award process. This will include creating awareness of grant opportunities, writing proposals, proofreading, fostering collaborations, and providing data, among other services. Some travel is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to eligible applicants and support with the identification of funding opportunities.
- Develop materials to aid in the proposal development process, including templates for project narratives and letters of support / commitment; summaries of notices of funding opportunities; letters of intent; checklists; and other written correspondence.
- Facilitate meetings, seminars, and workshops on the grant writing process regularly.
- Manage the preparation of grant proposal packages and support eligible entities throughout the proposal submission process.
- Liaise and interact with eligible entities and the WV Office of Broadband to encourage collaboration.
- Interpret funding opportunities, write project narratives, and develop budgets.
- Guide and assist eligible applicants in filling grant application forms for funding by federal agencies and foundations and uploading documents into submission sites.
- Complete grant writing resolutions such as white papers, requests for proposals / qualifications, and more.
- Maintain meeting records, project files, and other documentation needed for project management and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
