This position upholds the mission of the Division to improve the affordability, accessibility, and quality of childcare services by providing essential office support in the administration of state and federal family childcare programs. The Office Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the provision of safe, quality childcare services, helping secure children’s safety and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the Office Assistant’s duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Completing routine office tasks such as posting information to logs or ledgers, checking information for completeness and accuracy, typing a variety of documents, filing, and organizing.
Serving as a liaison for communications between the department, intergovernmental agencies, childcare providers, and the general public.
Assisting the Family Child Care Unit with creating and issuing correspondence to providers and filing paperwork.
Understanding, interpreting, adapting, and applying standard office procedures to make decisions or solve unusual problems related to assigned tasks.
Utilizing standard computer commands, screens, or menus to enter, access, and update or manipulate data.
Organizing and distributing mail or email correspondence.
Taking and forwarding provider telephone calls to appropriate staff.
Performing related tasks as required.

Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in routine office work.
Salary : $27,240 - $45,973
