Job Description: An industrial maintenance technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and equipment in a manufacturing setting, ensuring smooth operation by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and making necessary repairs to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, often using technical manuals and diagnostic tools to identify issues and implement solutions; they may also be involved in calibrating equipment and ensuring compliance with safety regulations
Duties
- Preventative maintenance:Regularly inspecting and servicing machinery according to established schedules, including cleaning, lubrication, and component checks to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshooting and Setup: Diagnosing malfunctions in industrial equipment, identifying faulty components, and repairing or replacing them using appropriate tools and techniques. Resolve mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/R issues.
- Perform stick welding and utilize precision measuring instruments for accurate assessments.
- Operate scissor lifts and other machinery safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- To provide insights on equipment performance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems as required.
- Installation & Setup:Installing new machinery and equipment, aligning and calibrating them to proper specifications.
- Reading technical manuals: Interpreting technical documentation to understand equipment operation and repair procedures.
- Part replacement: Ordering and replacing worn or damaged parts as needed.
- Safety compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures while working on machinery.
Skills and qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals .
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces
- Basic computer skills for data entry and accessing maintenance documentation
- Familiarity with logic controllers and field service operations is advantageous.
- Previous experience as an industrial electrician is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact team members.
